Magali Avila- Artista Contemporánea
"The main themes of my work are the connection between the figurative and the abstract, and the relationship between physical space and interior emotions."
"My intention is to develop a 'creative rescue' of this relationship. I seek to connect the physical, exterior world - your walk down the street, the lights in your kitchen, the tablet you are holding now – to the vast sea of emotion and thought of your interior world. This is what interests me as an artist."
"My work is also, essentially, about the human experience, and our constant search for identity and meaning - including the life-death duality and how it affects our daily lives."
"Through images and constructions, I explore this underlying tension between life and death. There I see a “transition point” – essentially life itself, which so always returns to the “eternal truth."
Life = Death = Pleasure and Pain
"By embracing this truth, I believe art can amplify our human experience, and deepen the joy of our daily existence."
