Grafismos Urbanos
Shown at the Museo de Arte Indegina in Morelos, México, "Grafismos Urbanos" was a group show focused on the street art of several cities.
This exhibit posited urban graphics as a kind of cartography, one that "re-colonizes" public spaces. But street art has its limits. It is impossible for these graphics to give voice or writing to the other. Instead, they form part of the intricate labyrinth of cracks, gaps, and holes, that coexist under the radar. Here the urban graphics of a dozen artists from different cities come to the surface, like an exercise in excavation and archeology, in search of "what's left" from the future.
