Apuntes del Desierto (Desert Sketches)

Following the Mexico City earthquake of 2018, Magali moved to San Miguel de Allende, where her work tilted toward a different landscape - mainly the desert - which yielded a new direction. Her abstract paper works, reflecting the emotion of the desert, with its radically barren drama, are chiefly in colors of ochre, sand, and pink. This period also marked the start of her investigation of desert colors with the use of organic and pre-Hispanic pigments.
